Discrimination Assistance - Rochester Office
thru: New York State Executive Department, Division of Human Rights
• Provides investigation and mediation services for those who feel they have been discriminated against.
• Provides enforcement of State and Federal laws against discrimination.
Language Access
Eligibility: Resident of area served. Alleged discriminatory act occurred in New York State within one year prior to filing complaint. Willingness to cooperate during investigation.
Application Process: Call or visit website. State, and sign (or e-sign) complaint of discrimination. Complaint form available on web site or mailed upon request.
Required Documentation: Photo ID may be required for notarization.
Fees: No fee for services.
Coverage Note: Allegany, Genesee, Livingston, Monroe, Ontario, Orleans, Schuyler, Seneca, Steuben, Wayne, Wyoming, and Yates Counties.
Languages: Other language assistance available, for any language requested., Spanish, American Sign Language- Staff provides in-person interpreter, Language line
