Head Start/Early Head Start Center Program
thru: Action for A Better Community
• Provides early education, health, mental health, nutrition and social services for low-income pregnant women and families with children through Early Head Start program.
• Provides educational experiences, medical and dental screening, nutritional meals, counseling and opportunities for parental involvement to help prepare low-income children and children with disabilities to enter and succeed in school through the Head Start Program.

Eligibility: Early Head Start: Pregnant women, children from birth to age three. Must meet federal family income guidelines. Head Start: Age 3 to 5 years. Household income is equal to or below the federal poverty guidelines and limited space for over-income families.
Application Process: Call for an appointment.
Required Documentation: Child’s birth certificate, up-to-date immunization records, physical exam, and dental exam; proof of income (pay stubs, DHS budget sheet, SSI statements, Unemployment statements, 1040 tax return).
Fees: No fees for service.
