Head Start/Early Head Start Center Program

Provides early education, health, mental health, nutrition and social services for low-income pregnant women and families with children through Early Head Start program. 

Provides educational experiences, medical and dental screening, nutritional meals, counseling and opportunities for parental involvement to help prepare low-income children and children with disabilities to enter and succeed in school through the Head Start Program. 
 

Eligibility: Early Head Start: Pregnant women, children from birth to age three. Must meet federal family income guidelines. Head Start: Age 3 to 5 years. Household income is equal to or below the federal poverty guidelines and limited space for over-income families.

Application Process: Call for an appointment.

Required Documentation: Child’s birth certificate, up-to-date immunization records, physical exam, and dental exam; proof of income (pay stubs, DHS budget sheet, SSI statements, Unemployment statements, 1040 tax return).

Fees: No fees for service.

Coverage Note: Monroe County.
