AD/HD Information

Developmental Assessment

  • Programs that provide evaluation of a child's cognitive and emotional function and skills.

Mental Health Evaluation

  • Screening, diagnostic and treatment planning services for people who are experiencing acute or chronic psychiatric problems.

Psychiatry and Medication

  • Programs that prescribe medications for control of psychiatric symptoms. Programs that provide mobile response to situations where an individual constitutes an imminent danger to themself or others.

Inpatient Mental Health

  • Hospital-based diagnostic and treatment services for those with acute psychiatric disorders that require hospitalization on a voluntary or involuntary basis, and that might make one a threat to themselves or others if left in the community or placed in a less restrictive treatment setting. The objective is to stabilize and return the individual to the community for ongoing treatment as quickly as possible, and to facilitate the transition by preparing the individual's family to cope with the limitations imposed by the illness and by arranging for other supportive services as required.

Psychiatric Day Treatment

  • Places that provide a therapeutic environment for individuals who have acute or chronic mental or emotional disturbances who can benefit from a structured environment for some portion of the day or week. Services may include individual, group and/or family therapy; social and recreational activities; and a range of adjunctive therapies.

Home Based Mental Health

  • Clinical therapeutic services, medication, daily living assistance, and other mental health services for those unable to leave their homes. Services for families with children experiencing a crisis so severe the child is at imminent risk for hospitalization or placement in a residential treatment facility. And home-based services for those for whom it is the most appropriate option.

Child/Adolescent Residential

  • Therapeutic living environments in a community-based facility for emotionally disturbed, severely learning disabled, delinquent, pre-delinquent and/or abused children and youth who, because of the severity of their problems, are unable to adjust to other placements but do not require inpatient psychiatric hospitalization.
