* Provides no cost literacy tutoring to adults by trained volunteers.
* Assists English speakers looking to improve reading, writing, math or science literacy or pursue their GED.
* Assists foreign-language speakers seeking to learn English: comprehension, speaking, reading and writing. Helps those interested prepare for US Citizenship exam.
* Structures tutoring primarily in a one-to-one setting at a time and place convenient for both learner and tutor.

Literacy Volunteers of Ontario-Yates Inc.Trained volunteer tutors work one-on-one with adults to improve their literacy, including basic literacy skills such as reading, writing and math, and teaching English as a second language. Tutors can help individuals prepare for the GED exam and also assist immigrant learners in preparing for the US Citizenship exam.
